Still Have Questions?

Do I need a permit?

Perfect Pools are designed to simplify pool ownership and do not require the same permanent installation process as many traditional pools. Permit requirements can vary by city, township, HOA, or local code, so we recommend checking your local rules before setup.

How long does setup take?

Once the ground is prepared, the pool itself can typically be set up in about 90 minutes before filling. Perfect Pool is designed around a 90-minute setup once the site is prepared. Actual timing varies based on yard conditions, unpacking, familiarity, inflation, hose connections, and equipment setup. Filling the pool is a separate process and is not included in the 90-minute setup.

Can the pool be taken down and moved?

Yes. The pool can be drained, cleaned, allowed to dry completely, deflated, and stored or relocated according to the product instructions. Prepare and recheck any new setup location before moving the pool, and never attempt to move it while it contains water.

Can pets swim in the pool?

Perfect Pools are built for real life and are safe around pets when supervised. However, we do not recommend allowing pets to swim in the pool. Not all pets play with the same level of intensity, and claws, chewing, scratching, or rough contact can damage the material. Pet-related damage is not covered under warranty.

What power does the Perfect Pools Smart Pump require?

The Perfect Pools Smart Pump requires 110-120VAC and should be plugged into a GFCI-protected outlet for safe outdoor pool equipment use.

How many gallons does each pool hold?

At the max fill line of 48 inches, the approximate* water capacity is:

  • 16 ft: about 6,000 gallons
  • 20 ft: about 9,400 gallons
  • 24 ft: about 13,500 gallons

*Actual capacity may vary slightly depending on final fill level and site conditions.

Can a heater be attached?

Yes. A properly sized pool heater or heat pump can be connected into the filtration line. We recommend having the heater setup reviewed by a qualified pool professional to make sure the plumbing, electrical, and flow requirements are correct.

What ground prep is needed before setting up a Perfect Pool?

Your Perfect Pool should be installed on a flat, level, stable surface with a 0.5 inch sand base underneath.

Before setup, remove any rocks, sticks, roots, debris, sharp objects, or high spots from the area. The surface should be firm, smooth, and properly leveled before the pool is filled.

A ground mat or rubber mat may be used as an added layer of protection, but it should not replace the 0.5 inch sand base.

Do not install the pool directly on rough, uneven, sloped, rocky, or unprepared ground.

Approximate 50 lb sand bag guidance:
16 ft pool: about 18 bags
20 ft pool: about 29 bags
24 ft pool: about 40 bags

What is a drop stitch inflatable pool, and how is it different from traditional inflatable pools?

A drop-stitch inflatable pool uses thousands of internal threads to connect the inside walls of the pool. When inflated, those threads allow the walls to become firm, structured, and stable instead of soft or balloon-like.

That is what makes a Perfect Pool different from a basic inflatable or air-ring pool. It is built with a drop-stitch core and premium PVC vinyl walls, giving it the strength and structure of a more durable above-ground pool while still allowing it to be deflated, moved, and stored when needed.

In simple terms, it inflates with air, but once fully inflated, the walls become firm and rigid, similar to the way a car tire holds its shape.

What is included in the pool package?

Each complete Perfect Pool package includes the premium drop-stitch pool, stabilizer ladder, pool cover, high-pressure inflation and deflation pump, WiFi-enabled pump and filtration system, hose kit, six bags of Perfect Puffs filter media, and a leaf scoop and scrub-brush cleaning kit.

Pool-only options are also available for customers who prefer to build their setup separately.

How durable are your drop stitch pools?

Perfect Pool uses high-pressure drop-stitch construction to create a rigid, stable wall when properly inflated. The material is designed for regular seasonal backyard use, but it is not damage-proof. Proper site preparation, inflation, water care, protection from sharp objects, and careful storage all help protect the pool.

How do I maintain the pool and keep it clean?

Each Perfect Pool package includes a smart WiFi pump and filtration system to help circulate and filter the water.

For regular upkeep, use the included leaf scoop to remove surface debris and the included scrubbing brush to clean the pool walls and floor as needed. You should also test and balance the water regularly, just like you would with a traditional above-ground pool.

The pool is chlorine compatible and saltwater compatible, so you can maintain the water using the system that works best for your setup. We also recommend using the pool cover when the pool is not in use to help reduce debris.

What size pool is right for my backyard?

Perfect Pools are available in 16 ft, 20 ft, and 24 ft round sizes.

Before choosing a size, measure the full installation area and make sure you have enough flat, level space for the pool itself, plus additional room for the ladder, pump/filter system, safe access, drainage, and general maintenance.

As a general planning rule, we recommend allowing extra space around the pool whenever possible rather than measuring only the pool diameter. Every backyard is different, so be sure to also check local codes, barrier requirements, and site conditions before installation.

If you are unsure which size will work best, contact our team with your backyard measurements and we can help point you in the right direction.

How long does it take to fill the pool with water?

Filling time depends on the pool size, water source, hose flow, and local conditions. Filling is separate from the 90-minute setup. Monitor the pool as the water rises and confirm that the shape, level, fittings, and hose connections remain correct. Do not leave the filling pool unattended.

What happens if my pool gets a puncture or needs repairs?

Perfect Pools are built to be durable, but sharp objects and accidents can still cause damage. Each pool includes a vinyl repair kit for small holes or minor repairs.

Can I leave my pool up year-round?

Yes, the Perfect Pool can be left up year-round as long as it is properly winterized. However, for maximum longevity, we recommend taking it down and storing it in its carrying bag when possible.

If temperatures are expected to stay below freezing for longer than 2 consecutive weeks, we recommend draining the pool according to the instructions, cleaning it, allowing it to dry completely, deflating it, and storing the pool, pump, hoses, ladder, cover, and accessories in a clean, dry, protected location.

If you choose to leave the pool up during winter, do not fully drain it. The pool should remain filled to at least the minimum fill line. The pump, hoses, filter, ladder, and accessories should be removed and stored, and the pool cover should be secured for the season.

How long will it take to receive my pool after ordering?

Most Perfect Pool orders are packed within 48 hours and typically arrive within 3 to 7 days after shipment, depending on your location and the freight carrier.

In most cases, customers can expect delivery in about 10 days from the time the order is placed.

Pool packages typically ship by freight and may arrive on multiple pallets, including the pool, pump/filter system, ladder, and accessories. Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.
